Young Leaders

The Westchester/Fairfield Young Leaders Group (“YLG”), launched in 2006, is a growing group of professionals under the age of 35 seeking to bring together local members of the public and private sector of the real estate industry, including developers, architects, engineers, planners, brokers, lenders, equity partners, financial analysts, attorneys and others.

Young Leaders

The goals of YLG are to encourage the next generation of real estate professionals to actively participate in ULI to gain exposure to senior industry leaders and to share content-filled ideas and experiences with fellow Young Leaders. The benefits of being a Young Leader include educational opportunities through attendance at and participation in content-based programs and task forces, networking opportunities with peers and senior professionals and reduced dues and program registration fees.

Our goals are accomplished through the following four concurrent programs, in addition to those offered by the Westchester/Fairfield District Council:

EXECUTIVE BREAKFAST SERIES
The Executive Breakfast Series provides Young Leaders the opportunity to meet each quarter with top real estate executives throughout the region for intimate discussions on industry trends, current projects, investment strategies and community development issues. Please visit our Calendar of Events for more information.

NETWORKING SOCIALS
Young Leader Networking Socials are scheduled each month to provide a casual setting for Young Leaders to meet with peers to discuss anything from industry topics, travel, sports and leisure. Often Young Leaders are asked to “bring their boss” along for the festivities. Please visit our Calendar of Events for more information.

STRATEGIC INITIATIVE TASK FORCES
Young Leaders are encouraged to participate in ULI Westchester/Fairfield’s Strategic Initiative Task Forces. The District Council has determined that Workforce Housing/Place-making, Infrastructure, and Sustainable Development are topics relevant to our members and the communities in which we live and work. Participation affords Young Leaders with consistent, content-based interfacing with real estate professionals in the public and private sector.

YOUNG LEADER SCHOLARSHIPS
Each year the Westchester/Fairfield District Council awards to one or two Young Leaders a scholarship to subsidize the cost to attend the Annual ULI Fall Meeting . All Young Leaders are encouraged to apply.

As we are now planning for the new year, please contact Maria D’Angelo of Newmark Knight Frank at Maria.DAngelo@ngkf.com with questions, ideas, comments or to join ULI or any one of our committees, which will steer the focus of YLG into the future. There are no additional dues for current ULI members.
